Dealing with dark, resistant orange hair

What do you do when you have a total mess of dark orange hair?

Today, our stylist Elona Taki is going to show you a very easy technique you can use in your salon.

A technique that comes out perfect every time.

And one that will leave your client totally happy, with better toned blonde hair than she ever had before.

The technique

First, we mix 4N, which is a dark base color, with 20 Vol developer and apply that to the root area.

Then we put the rest of the hair in foils.

Inside the foils we will need to put in a really good quality bleach with developer.

This hair looks very resistant. It's also been colored in the past.

So for the bleach we are going to be using Brilliant Blondexx, Ugly Duckling's bleach with Bond Protect.

This bleach has 7 levels of lift. It offers exceptional hair protection thanks to the Bond Protect.

Apply the bleach mixture and let it process under the foils.

We are going to use foils because we want to create a dimensional effect.

You can apply some gentle heat over the foils if you wish.

That will help speed up the processing time.

Once done, rinse the whole head.

Then we are going to apply Blondify's new 09V Violet Blonde toner mixed with 20 Vol developer in an applicator bottle.

09V means that it is a level 9 toner, and that it contains violet, or purple reflects.

So this toner has been developed for level 9 hair.

And its purple pigmentation will provide excellent neutralization in cases like this.

Cases where even though the hair has been lifted with bleach, it was very dark to start off with and it's still very very yellow.

We pour over and let the the mix process for around 10 minutes.

Then we rinse.

As you can see, the purple based toners neutralizes the bright yellow-orange tones perfectly

And gives a cool blonde level 9 result.
